Add a dodging mechanic, please.
Firstly, Id just like to say Ive been playing this game for a few hours now and it is great. Even though it is still in its development phase it plays like a finished product, with only a few modes and features left to create.
The art style is wonderful, the story is great, great use of cel shading and 3D models; I could go on forever about this games strengths.
The only flaw I believe there is in this game is the lack of a dodging mechanic. The gameplay is solid, but it could be so much better with this in place. Without a dodging mechanic the outcomes of battles seem too predetermined, especially if you are using a melee type Hero. When attacks are pretty much unavoidable it dumbs the game down to button mashing and spamming skills, it requires no skill or challenge. Simply if youve grinded enough then you win by default, if not you cant win.
I feel this brings the game down because it makes gameplay too linear, and if you gave it more depth this could be a real masterpiece--completely flawless.
So in conclusion this game is great in nearly every way, and since its still being developed I feel you can still do this:
1. Add a dodging mechanic: This could be another opportunity to make the combo bar even more important. You could make it so if you double tap on the screen your hero does a dodge or roll and it consumes your combo bar. This alone would improve the gameplay in spades.
2. Since you have the ability to play as any Hero or use any minimon that was previously an enemy, you could make enemies be able to dodge, too. Just a thought.
Regardless of what you do, this game is still great. Please keep it up, I can see this game becoming big in the US.
